Tour itinerary

Day 1 - Day of departure

Depart on your overnight flight to Rome via a European gateway.
Day 2 - Rome / Pompeii / Sorrento

Arrival in Rome and depart for Pompeii, the sumptuous town which was buried by one of the most disastrous volcanic eruptions in history. The site provides first-class evidence of the ancient way of life. After the tour, continue to Sorrento for dinner and the night.
Day 3 - Sorrento / Capri / Naples

Enjoy a full day excursion to jet-setting Capri with your Tour Escort. Capri captivated two Roman emperors: Augustus who exchanged it for Ischia and paid several visits, and Tiberius who spent the latter part of his life there in voluntary exile. In the evening, take the overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo.
Day 4 - Palermo

Arrival in Palermo, the capital and chief seaport of Sicily, surrounded by orange groves. Enjoy a half day guided tour of this beautiful city including the town center, the palace of the Normans and the Cathedral of Monreale, overlooking the Conca d'Oro (all from outside only). Dinner and overnight in Palermo.
Day 5 - Palermo / Agrigento / Taormina

After breakfast, depart on a half day guided tour of Agrigento. Your tour will include the Valley of the Temples. Even travellers having visited Athens and Delphi are awed by the gigantic yet graceful Greek sculptures which have miraculously survived 24 centuries. After the tour, continue to Taormina, for dinner and the night.
Day 6 - Taormina / Syracusa / Mt. Etna

This morning, enjoy a half day guided tour to Syracusa, and its archaeological area. See the Greek Theatre, which dates back from the 5C BC and is one of the largest and best preserved theatres in the whole world. In the afternoon, depart for Etna, and enjoy a stroll on the pleasant promenade which affords many views of Mt. Etna and the Sicilian mountain range. Dinner and overnight in Taormina.
Day 7 - Taormina / Mt. Etna / Naples

Morning at leisure to enjoy the sun and the beach and to do your packing. In the afternoon, there will be a visit to Taormina with your tour escort. You will see the Greek Theatre and public gardens. In the evening, transfer to the port in Catania, to board your overnight ferry to Naples.
Day 8 - Naples/ Rome

On arrival in Naples, depart for Rome. In the afternoon, enjoy a half day guided tour of historical Rome to include the Roman Forum, Coliseum (from outside only), Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and more. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Rome.
Day 9 - Rome

Morning half day guided tour of Rome to include St. Peter's Square and Basilica, the largest church in Christianity, covering an area of 23,000 square meters and with a capacity of over 60,000 people. You will also see the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. Originally founded by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century, the Basilica di San Paolo is the burial place of Saint Paul the Apostle. It features a fascinating array of historical, religious and artistic sights to explore. The afternoon is to do your last minute packing and souvenir shopping.
Day 10 - Day of Return

Return to Toronto or Montreal.
