Depart on your overnight flight to Athens via a European gateway.
Arrival in Athens and transfer to your hotel.
Depart on a journey west travelling through rugged mountain scenery to Delphi. The guided walking tour of the site will include the Oracle, the sanctuary of Apollo, the Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. In antiquity, Delphi was one of the most important religious centers, attracting pilgrims who came to consult the Oracle. Even now, an aura of mystery invests the sparse ruins. Overnight will be in Delphi.
Depart for ancient Olympia in the Alpheios Valley. The ruins still testify to the grandeur of the ancient sanctuary which through the Olympic was a symbol of Greek unity. Visit the archaeological site and the museum. Overnight will be in Olympia.
Depart on a tour to the Argolis region, including the theater of Epidaurus, famous for its acoustics and the ruins of Mycenae, which date back to the 2nd millennium B.C. According to legend, Mycenae was founded by Perseus, son of Zeus and Danae, who raised the city walls with the help of the Cyclops, giant builders who had one eye in the middle of their forehead. Continue to Nauplia for the night.
Depart for Athens after breakfast. There will be a stop at the Corinth Canal for pictures. On arrival, enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Athens to include the Olympic Stadium, the Temple of Zeus, the ancient Roman ruins and the Acropolis. Overnight will be in Athens.
Depart on your 3-night Aegean cruise, including the following ports of call: Mykonos, Rhodes, Patmos and Kusadasi (Ephessus). Shore excursions are NOT included. All meals and entertainment on board are included.
After disembarkation, depart on a half day tour to Cape Sounion to visit the Sanctuary of Poseidon. The afternoon is to explore Athens with your teachers and do your last-minute souvenir shopping.
Return to Canada.
